Trilby + Michael | Sandstone Point Hotel Wedding

Michael was singing at a restaurant at the Gold Coast when he couldn’t help but notice a certain striking blonde staring at him from across the room.. Trilby will claim she was doing so because she has always been so in awe of people who can sing but let’s be honest, we all know it was more than that! After his set finished Mick realised that the two had a friend in common and made quick work of asking for an introduction! One month later during their first date a stranger walked up to them chatting, she explained that she was physic and that she could tell that they would be together forever.. no pressure or anything guys!

So, I LOVE how Trilby and Michael approached their wedding! From the moment I met them both I just had an inkling that their day would be one of the most relaxing and down to earth I would ever see.. and I was right! Trilby apologised to me when I arrived for only having her shoes, engagement ring and flowers and no other ‘heirloom’ jewellery for me to photograph.. this didn’t bother me one bit as it isn’t her to do ‘all that’. For example, she told me she found her wedding bouquet at a local florist in Bribie Island and she even managed to do her own hair on the morning of! Like.. seriously!? So casual and relaxed..

Michael was the same and I think their lives together and certainly their wedding reflected that as a couple.. they don’t get lost in the minuscule drama’s or details but cut straight through it to that that REAALY matters to them! Surrounded by good food and of course good music was a must but above all getting to spend time with their friends and fam on the day made for an incredible afternoon and evening!

Trilby and Michael.. It was such a pleasure to be part of your wedding day and you were both such troopers when mother nature’s gail force winds put a little hiccup into our initial plan for bridal photos..! Thank you for having Katie and I capture your incredible day! I can’t wait to see what incredible things your future holds and hope these photos transport you back to the day they were taken.

All my love,
